The new DOW Chemical’s Middle East R&D Center will house advanced laboratories for the research of water treatment as well as expanded capabilities in oil and gas downstream and upstream markets, building and construction, and coatings driven by growth opportunities in the Middle East and other emerging geographies. With the capability to extend into additional Dow technologies, the facility will support the geographic growth of Dow businesses.

Our Scope

Design, Supply, Testing, Commissioning of the Laboratory Exhaust System and ERU plenums

The High plume fans system is designed to have high discharge velocities and dilution by inducing fresh air through a stack. A combination of Air volume and velocity contributes to a high plume exhaust while diluting hazardous exhaust concentrations. MK Plastics Axijet fans series is a great fit this purpose.

MK Plastics K-KORE plenums Features

  • Lightweight construction. Up to 40% weight savings vs. steel construction.
  • True no-thru-metal construction throughout the entire cabinet depth.
  • Unlimited salt-spray resistance
  • Highly Corrosion resistance.
  • Flame Spread index of less than 25 when tested according to UL 723.

 

A total of 7 Fans Sets were installed to extract the hazardous air from the building.

  • 5-fans sets with Energy Recovery Units (ERU)
  • Fans sets with ERU, with a 3 fans of each set 2 Duty / 1 Standby arrangement with fans up to 25,000 CFM operated by motors of 40HP.
  • In each ERU plenum, multiple rows of KONVEKTA energy recovery coils were installed in K-KORE Plenums at the factory prior shipping
  • In each ERU plenum, a Mee-Fog spray nozzle system was installed in K-KORE Plenums at the factory prior shipping
  • As large as 5.5X5.5m K-KORE Composite Energy Recovery Plenums were installed
  • The last 2-fans sets with 1+1 Duty/standby arrangement without Energy recovery coils.
